LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 28: A schoolteacher, who was kidnapped some two months ago, was freed by the kidnappers and he reached home, said an official on Sunday.

The source said that Muhammad Farooq, a schoolteacher by profession along with two other colleagues was abducted from Government High School Kotka Sakhi Jan of Wargaray area of Lakki Frontier Region on Sept 29.

“After kidnapping of three schoolteachers the political administration of frontier region launched a crackdown on kidnappers’ gangs and arrested several tribesmen under section of FCR,” source said, adding that the administration had also stopped government privileges to the Wargaray clan of Bhettani tribe to build pressure on kidnappers to release the abducted teachers unconditionally.

The source said that Muhammad Farooq of Surkikhel Wazir was freed by the kidnappers and he reached home safely.—Correspondent
