Man kills his brothers

GUJAR KHAN Nov23: A man shot dead his two brothers over money in Bher Ratial village of Jatli police area on Tuesday and fled, police said.

Abdul Sattar, the alleged murderer, had been running a monetary dispute with his elder and younger brothers, Abdul Ghafar and Zuilfiqar, according to the police.

On Tuesday afternoon their dispute turned into bloody incident when Abdul Ghafar pulled out his pistol and opened fire on his brothers killing Ghaffar on the spot while Zuilfiqar died on way to hospital.

Police have registered a case againt Abdul Sattar and his son Shoaib and looking for them. —Correspondent

Two killed in accidents

ATTOCK, Nov 23: Two persons were killed and four others were injured in two road accidents in the district.

A woman died after she lost balance and fell from a motorcycle, the police said.

A minor girl died and four others persons were seriously injured when a car and trailer collided near Akhlaz chowk on Attock- Pindigheb road. — Correspondent

RAWALPINDI, Nov 23: An old man died after he was run over by a speeding car on Islamabad Expressway on Tuesday, police said.

Shabir Hussain Shah, a resident of Dhoke Kala Khan, was hit and killed by a speeding car while he was crossing the road.

The body of the victim was handed over to his family while and the car. Police have arrested the car driver identified as Haseeb.—Staff Reporter

No ceremonies on road

ATTOCK, Nov 23: Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has banned marriages and other ceremonies on main city roads to avoid damage to the newly constructed and inconvenience to the local residents besides hindrance in flow of traffic.

Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Mubarik Ali told Dawn here on Tuesday that main reason behind the ban was to protect city roads from being damaged as big iron bars are penetrated into roads to give support to tents installed for ceremonies.

In this connection, all tent service providers have been informed that, if any one found violating the ban would have to pay a fine Rs15,000, he said. — Correspondent

Death sentence

RAWALPINDI, Nov 23: An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sentenced to death a man for killing his rival over family feud.

Judge Tanveer Akbar convicted Aamir Mehmood for killing Amjad Khan but acquitted four others.

Waris Khan police registered a murder case against Mehmood and four others on September 7, 2007 for killing Amjad Khan in Committee Chowk. —Our Reporter

Road show for Korean firms
