RECENTLY in Karachi at least four huge amenity plots — three of them in Gulistan-i-Jauhar — have reportedly been converted by the city district government and allotted to people for residential and commercial uses in contravention of the law. It is unfortunate that amenities plots allotted for particular purposes are being illegally utilised for residential and commercial purpose to earn money.

The Sindh government should take action against persons responsible for this and cancel all such illegal allotments of amenities plots forthwith. Moreover, if any structures are already made on such plots, these must be demolished immediately.
