PESHAWAR, Sept 22: The Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Qari Roohullah Madani, has directed the Zakat Committee to prepare a list of needy patients for funds distribution.

He asked the District Zakat Committee, Peshawar, that list of all the health institutions including district headquarters hospitals, rural health centres and basic health units should be submitted with his office within three days for the distribution of Rs2 million Zakat.

Mr Madani, while presiding over a meeting of the committee on Saturday, said that the names of the Zakat recipients should be displayed at the public places.

The minister was told that Rs60 million had been allocated under the Zakat Rehabilitation Scheme, for 3,200 needy people.

Mr Madani also directed that the list of welfare organizations should be prepared at the earliest for the distribution of Rs20 million, allocated for social welfare sector.

He also distributed cheques among the poor people. —APP
