THE Saudi government should consider its policy about Masahir Railway. This is a new high speed metro railway system that links Mina and Arafat passing through Muzdalifah.

The cost of the ticket to use the train is 250 Saudi riyals at a minimum but the main criterion is that one must be a Saudi or GCC citizen and, next year, Arab.

Besides being at a cost which is affordable, such a facility should be for sick and elderly pilgrims rather for a Gulf Arab and then Arab.

This is tantamount to singling out Muslims to use a facility by nationality.

The Holy Prophet called for equality among Hajis and the most symbolic is the white robe of 'ihram' for all — from serf to prince.

It would be in the interest of Ummah to eradicate such discrimination.
