FAISALABAD, Nov 21: Traders of Mansoorabad on Sunday demonstrated in favour of the suspended SHO and got him reinstated.

Lyallpur Town SP Zamirul Hassan had on Saturday suspended from service sub-inspector Ali Imran following a protest demonstration by residents of Razaabad over killing of Hassam Arshad in an encounter on Canal Road.

The protesters blocked Main Narawala Road near Adda Madanpura, demanding action against the policemen.

On the other hand, the traders said the SHO had shot dead a robber. They said robbers had snuffed the light out of their businesses. Later, the police reinstated Ali Imran.

The police said Hassam and his accomplices looted Rs5,000 in cash and cell phone from Amin Town's resident Shaukat Ali and the union council squad of Mansoorabad police killed him in an exchange of fire.

Hassam's father Khwaja Arshad alleged that the police declared his son robber and killed him in a staged encounter.

Meanwhile, robbers gunned down a milkman at Chak 654-GB in the Lundianwala police precinct.

Reports said Ashiq Hussain, a resident of Chak 654-GB, was on way home when robbers stopped him and shot him dead on resistance. The injured breathed his last on way to hospital.
