Without any disrespect to Islam and the Prophet (PBUH) the largest religious gathering is documented to be of about 60- 70 Million people in Allahabad for the Kumbh Mela. Though Haj is one of large gatherings, it is not the largest. Just a fact, Im not ttrying to belittle anybody!

The captions are like those of Gulf News and Khaleej Times. Mentioning God instead of Allah doesnt make much sense here. I am a regular Dawn reader for I dont know how many years, i observe the captions really need to be rephrased especially after the launch of new Dawn website.

Dear Sharma, I just want to say that Kumbh Mela is the largest religious gathering but in my humble opinion Hajj is the largest just because Kumbh Mela held after every 4 or 6 years. And Hajj is offered every year. That is why Hajj gathering is the largest religious gathering in the world.
