The beautiful side of Taipei

Published November 8, 2010

Taiwan unveiled its first international expo, designed to showcase the island's thriving horticulture and its efforts to enhance local ecology, will run from Nov. 6, 2010 through April 25, 2011. “We hope the world will see the beautiful side of Taipei through the expo,” said mayor Hau Lung-bin, adding that 59 international cities, including three from China, are participating in the event.

“It's more than an expo of flowers and gardening. We want to use this to call attention to the fact that environmental protection is a way of life,” Hau said.–(Photo by AP & Reuters)
