PPP apprises CEC of harassment

ISLAMABAD, Sept 17: The PPP acting secretary-general, Mian Raza Rabbani has asked the chief election commissioner to take action against the attitude of the government functionaries towards the party candidate.

In a letter addressed to the CEC, Raza Rabbani wrote: “I bring it to your notice that the candidates of the People’s Party Parliamentarians in Faisalabad have complained that SSP Zafar Iqbal Lak and sub-inspector Hafiz Javed of Choki Razabad are harassing, intimidating and adopting coercive measures towards the supporters and workers of the party.”

“They are patronising criminal elements through whom the party election offices are being forcibly shut down,” the letter read.
