Squad named for Asian Games

KARACHI, Sept 16: National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) Monday named a 15-member shooting squad for the Sept 29-Oct 14 Asian Games at Busan, South Korea.

The squad also includes three women in the rifle event, Nazish Khan, Urooj Fatima and Nadia Saeed.

Three Trap shooters also been picked in the reshuffled squad. Commonwealth Games Standard Pistol bronze medalists Zahid Ali and Irshad Ali are again among the medal prospects in the Asiad.

Sydney Olympian Khurram Inam with another shooter Ahmed Sultan and Amin Karamat are the skeet shooters.

Javed Shamshad Lodhi will be manager-cum-coach of the team.

Squad:

Rifle (men): Dawood Jan, Ayaz Tahir.

Rifle (women): Nazish Khan, Urooj Fatima, Nadia Saeed.

Pistol: Zahid Ali, Irshad Ali, Mustaqeem Shah.

Skeet: Ahmed Sultan, Amin Karamat, Khurram Inam.

Trap: Capt Mahmood Sultan, Usman Sadiq, Munir Hussain.—APP
