LAHORE, Sept 16: A Millat Party delegation, led by Farooq Leghari, met Punjab PML-QA president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Monday and discussed electoral strategy of the Grand National Alliance (GNA).

MP leaders Muhammad Ali Durrani and Qaswar Saeed Mirza also attended the meeting.

According to a press release, both sides expressed their satisfaction over cooperation among the GNA components and hoped that the alliance would sweep the general elections.

The PML-QA has made adjustments with the Millat party on four national and nine Punjab assembly seats in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts.

Seats on which the adjustments have been made are: NA-172, 173, 174 and 175 and PP-242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250.

Mr Leghari is contesting election on NA-172.

On a number of seats, candidates of the two sides are also contesting against each other. Adjustments on such seats could not be made because each side claimed that its candidate was stronger than the other. —Staff Reporter
