42 vie for 2 NA, 6 PA seats in Mansehra

MANSEHRA, Sept 15: Forty-two candidates are left in the electoral contest for the two national assembly and six provincial assembly seats in Mansehra after the withdrawal of nomination papers.

Ten candidates are in the run for the national assembly seats and 32 for the six provincial assembly seats.

The candidates for NA-20, Mansehra-I, are: Syed Ghulam Nabbi Shah (MMA), Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf (PML-QA), Sardar Viqarul Mulk (PPP), Saqib Mumtaz Khan (PML-N), Navid Akhtar Khan (PTI) and Salahuddin Tirmizi (independent).

NA-21, Mansehra-II: Nawabzada Salahuddin Saeed (PML-QA), Maulana Abdul Malik (MMA), Haji Mohammad Tahir (PML-N) and Faiz Mohammad Khan (independent).

PF-53, Mansehra-I: Mohammad Tariq Khan Swati (PML-QA), Malik Abdul Waheed (PPP), Dr Tariq Sherazi (MMA), Syed Abid Hussain Shah (PAT) and Shujah Salim Khan, Babar Salim Khan, Sardar Zahoor Ahmad, Zulfiqar and Iftikhar Alam (independents).

PF-54, Mansehra-II: Sardar Abdul Khaliq Poswal (PML-QA), Qari Mohammad Afzal (MMA), Ms Nargis Ali (PTI), Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor (PML-N) and Syed Mazhar Ali Qasim (independent).

PF-55, Mansehra-III: Mufti Kifayatullah (MMA), Navid Akhtar Khan (PTI), Khalid Latif (PML-N) and Abdus Sattar Khan, Shahzada Mohammad Gustasap Khan and Sardar Mohammad Khan (independents).

PF-56, Mansehra-IV: Wajee-uz-Zaman Khan (PML-QA), Qazi Gul Rehman (MMA) and Faiz Mohammad Khan (independent).

PF-57, Mansehra-V: Mohammad Naeem Sakhi (PML-QA), Ghulam Murtaza Tanoli (PPP) and Ms Ghazala Habib Tanoli, Zulfiqar Ali and Sardar Shah (independents).

PF-58, Mansehra-VI: Zafarullah Khan (MMA) and Zar Gul Khan, Shaukat Khan and Noor Mohammad (independents).

Ijaz withdraws: Ijazul Haq, chief of PML (Zia), and several candidates of various political parties on Saturday withdrew their nomination papers filed for the two National and six provincial assemblies seats of Mansehra district.

Ijazul Haq withdrew his papers from NA-20, Mansehra-I and NA-21, Mansehra-II. Other candidates for NA-20, who withdrew their papers are: Haq Nawaz Khan (PPP-S), Shaukat Ali Khan (JI), Wajeehuz Zaman Khan and Abdul Khaliq Poswal of PML (QA), Razia Khattak (PTI) and Mufti Kifayatullah of MMA.

The candidates who withdrew their papers from NA-21 are Zar Gul Khan, Nawabzada Jehangir Saeed and Mufti Kifayatullah.

From PF-53, Mansehra-I, Iftikhar Tariq Khan Swati, Kalim Akbar Khan and Viqar Hussain Rabbani have withdrawn their nominations.

From PF-54, Mansehra-II, all the candidates except Abdul Khaliq Poswal of the PML (QA), Maulvi Abdul Ghafoor of PML-N, Nargis Ali of PTI, Syed Mazhar Ali Qasim and Mohammad Arshad have withdrawn their nominations.

From PF-55, Mansehra-III, Ahmad Farooq Khan, Hafiz Mohammad Nasim, Shah Abdul Qadir, Mohammad Salim Khan, Anwar Beg Khan and Javid Iqbal have withdrawn their papers.

From PF-58, Mansehra-VI, all the candidates except Zafrullah Khan of MMA, Zar Gul Khan, Noor Mohammad and Mohammad Sajjad have withdrawn their nomination papers.

Till our going to press no candidate turned up to withdraw the nomination papers from PF-56, Mansehra-IV and PF-57, Mansehra-V.
