KARACHI: Incidents of violence and firing continued ahead of PS-94 by-elections in Karachi on Saturday.

A Dawn news vehicle was torched and its staff targeted in an incident that took place near Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi.

The Dawn news car with registration number APD-753 was forced to stop by unidentified armed gunmen near Safoora Chowrangi. Its passenger Adnan Amjed and the driver Muhammad Imran were targeted, the gunmen looted their cash and mobile phones. After which the armed men torched the vehicle and fled the scene.

The incident took place despite claims of high security alert by the provincial government and police, whereas no police or rangers where seen near the scene of incident. – DawnNews
