HYDERABAD, Sept 13: Six Returning Officers (ROs) of Hyderabad district here on Friday recommended a total number of 1424 polling stations for the district.

The RO for NA-218 (Hyderabad-I), Mr Abdul Kabeer Leghari, recommended 265 polling stations for a total number of 276,462 voters, for one national and two provincial assembly seats, of which, 144,184 were male and 132,278 were female voters.

He added that 607 polling booths would be required, besides 607 poling officers, 265 presiding officers and 1214 assistant presiding officers.

The Election Commission of Pakistan had recommended one polling station for every 1000 or more voters.

The RO for NA-219 (Hyderabad-II), Qazi Allah Bux, recommended 225 polling stations for 236,225 voters of the constituency, of which 137,568 were male and 98,657 were female voters.

A total number of 580 polling booths were to be established in the constituency, with 225 presiding officers and 580 polling officers.

For NA-220 (Hyderabad-III), Amjad Ali Bohyo, the RO, recommended 246 poling stations for 273,607 voters, of which, 144,226 were male and 129,381 were female voters . The constituency required 734 polling booths and a same number of polling officers, besides 246 presiding officers, the RO suggested.

For the newly created seat, NA-221 (Hyderabad-IV), 211 polling stations had been recommended by the RO, Mohammad Aslam Sheikh, for 231,671 voters, including 121,567 male and 110,104 female voters. 559 polling booths and polling officers would be required for the each category (male and female), besides 211 presiding officers and 1,118 assistant presiding officers, the RO opined.

Abdul Rehman Bhatti, the RO for NA-222 (Hyderabad-V), proposed 233 polling stations for the area, with 643 polling booths and an equal number of polling officers.

He said 1286 assistant presiding officers would also be required for a total number of 262,149 voters (140,883 male and 121,266 female).

The RO for NA-223 (Hyderabad-VI), Syed Qurban Ali Shah Lakhyari, proposed 242 polling stations with 582 each polling booths and polling officers for 274,892 voters (144,801 male and 130,091 female). 242 presiding officers and 1,164 assistant presiding officers would be deputed in the polling stations.

The final polling scheme would be notified by the District Returning Officer after a revision, within next few days.
