KARCHI Karachi Port Trust hammered two injury time goals as they pulled a 3-0 win over Habib Bank Limited in Pakistan Premier Football League here on Wednesday at KPT - Benazir Sports Complex.

After a slow-paced first half that ended 0-0, the second half turned into an exciting battle with attacks from both sides but it was KPT that saw their three players go into the scoring book, with three goals in the final 16 minutes.

Striker Jamal Uddin broke the deadlock in the 74th minute when his fierce close-range drive from close range took deflection off keeper Syed Dilawar Hussain and rolled over the line. And it was left to international midfielders - Muhammad Wasim and Shahid Saleem - to score in injury time. Wasim, who was transferred from KRL, enhanced the lead to 2-0 in stoppage time while Shahid's strike was noted down as a 93rd minute goal.

KPT collected 13 points from six matches while HBL, still winless, recorded one in five matches.

Meanwhile in another match, Pakistan International Airlines cut Sui Southern Gas Company to size with a 3-1 win at CDGK Stadium. The airmen opened the clash against Gas Company in explosive way when front runner Nazeer Ahmed hammered the ball into the net twice within 12 minutes.

The 24-year-old Karachi-born Nazeer steered the ball in the net and increased the lead further seven minutes later. Both the goals were sweetly-timed, giving no chance to SSGC keeper Zaman Ghani.

PIA led 2-0 at interval but SSGC reduced the deficit in the 49th minute through Rustam Khan whose angular drive went through the defense of keeper Syed Sultan Ali.

Moments later Asim Faiz headed Shah Nawaz's excellent cross wide off the target for SSGC.

PIA added a third in the 88th minute through midfielder Wasim Ullah who faked his way in for a dazzling goal. - PPI
