HYDERABAD, Sept 10: Two prosecution witnesses here on Monday produced a motorcycle before the Anti-Terrorism Court that was used in the killing of sub-inspector Syed Akhtar Hussain Zaidi in 2000.

The prosecution witnesses who recorded their statements included traffic sergeant and former investigating officer of the case, Inspector Ayub Durrani, medico-legal officer Dr Shakeel Ahmad Qureshi, motorcycle dealers, Aslam and Nawab Khan, and crime branch official Ibrar.

The MLO told the court he had conducted the autopsy of Zaidi and said he had suffered one bullet on his chest and other multiple injuries on his body.

He said he had also checked ASI Shoaib Soomro, who was injured in the incident, and in view of his critical condition referred him to a Karachi hospital.

Aslam testified he had bought the vehicle, used in the crime, from Abdullah Jamali and then sold it to Irfan Rind, the accused of the case.

Khan said he had purchased the motorcycle from Rind and then sold it to another person who was resident of Thana Bula Khan.

Ibrar of the crime branch said he had recorded statements of Manoj Kumar, Shoaib Soomro and Ayub Soomro.

He said he had brought Javed Samoon from Karachi prison and arrested Rind in Hyderabad.
