Davis Cup trials start

ISLAMABAD, Sept 8: Trials to select Pakistan Davis Cup team for the Asia Oceania Group II final against China have begun in Peshawar.

Aqeel Khan, Nomi Qamar, Ahmad Wala and Asim Shafik are appearing in the trials. Aisamul Haq, the fifth player is an automatic selection.

Secretary of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, Maj (Retd) Rashid Khan said Sunday that two matches each day were being held after which the final four will be named Wednesday.

The Davis Cup tie is slated for Sept 20-22 at Peshawar.
