HYDERABAD, Sept 7: Air Commodore Shabbir Ahmed of Pakistan Air Force, here on Friday, inaugurated the “Regional Science Exhibition Show on Information Technology”, at the State Life building, to mark the Air Force Day, in connection with the 37th Defence Day of Pakistan.

The Vice Chancellors of the Sindh and Mehran Universities, Mr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and Dr Abdur Rehman Memon, were the chief guests.

The exhibition was jointly organised by the Pakistan Air Force and the Zebra IT Solutions.

More than 30 hardware and software companies, universities and institutions had setup their stalls at the three-day exhibition.

In his welcome speach, Squadron leader Khalid Mehmood of PAF Hyderabad Centre recalled the brilliant performance of the PAF during the 1965 war.

He said Pakistan was holding an advantageous position in the field of IT and added that the PAF was benefiting from various aspects of IT, through separate IT sections in each of its Squadron and Wings.

He said the aim of the Indus Valley Expo Asia-2002, was to familiarise the youth of the area with the latest developments in IT.

He acknowledged the contribution of the Zebra IT for organising the IT exhibition in Hyderabad.

Dawn Group of Newspapers had also setup a stall where the latest issues of its publications, Spider, Aurora and Herald were displayed.

Mr Shabbir Shah and Asif Shah of the Zebra Systems, also spoke on the occasion.

SU ADMISSION: The director of admissions, University of Sindh, announced here on Friday that the list of qualified candidates for admissions in BHP Ed and MHP Ed, for

the academic session of 2002, have been displayed at the directorate of admissions, administration building, Jamshoro.

The last date for payment of admission fee has been fixed as Sept 13. Regular classes of BHP Ed and MHP Ed will commence from Sept 16.
