KSE crosses 2,000-point barrier

KARACHI, Sept 6: The Karachi Stock Exchange, on the last day of the trading week — Friday — crossed the 2,000-point psychological barrier in the opening session at 11am.

The KSE-100 Index witnessed a straight rise of 14.65 points to 2006.59, bringing profits to scrips of 87 companies, losses to 50 while 30 remained unchanged. A total of 67.1 million shares have so far been traded.

Among the active scrips, PTCL was quoted at Rs20.25, ICI Rs40.80, Fauji Fertilizer Rs52.65, PSO Rs203.50 and Hubco Rs28.10. —APP
