SIALKOT, Sept 6: Satrah police failed to arrest three proclaimed offenders (POs) late Thursday night.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the Government Primary School Jharaanwala in Dhaska Tehsil for arresting POs Saleh, Shaukat Ali and Nawaz, who, however, managed to escape under cover of darkness, leaving behind three Kalashnikovs.

Meanwhile, the Begowala police arrested a man named Mohammad Yusaf, a resident of Pasrur, who was allegedly trying to use fake currency notes at a filling station. The police found fake notes of Rs91,000 in his possession. — Correspondent
