Qazi says no meeting held with Nawaz

TIMERGARA, Sept 6: Jamaat-i-Islami chief has dispelled the impression that he met former prime minister Nawaz Sharif during his stay in Jeddah.

Talking to newsmen at the residence of late Dr Yaqoob in Lower Dir, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said he had visited Jeddah on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah to discuss various issues confronting to the Muslim Ummah. “After performing Umra, I came back to Pakistan”, he added.

Jamaat chief arrived here to condole with the family of Lower Dir Nazim Dr Yaqoob, who had died due to heart failure two days ago.

He denied the formation of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal was a handiwork of intelligence agencies. It was a desire of all religious organisations to get united under one banner for achieving their objectives, he stated.
