KARACHI, Sept 3: The passing out parade of 502 Pakistan Navy sailors was held at PNS Himalaya, Manora, on Friday.
The sailors have formally joined the Pakistan Naval force upon completion of 17 weeks rigorous training.
Rear Admiral Sayyid Khawar Ali, Commander Karachi, was the chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest said that the country was going through a critical phase.
“Talibanisation in northern areas and current flood situation have put the country in a precarious economic position,” he said. “Pakistan Navy in this challenging situation stands side by side with the nation and is making all-out efforts for relief of affected people,” he added.
Rear Admiral Khawar urged the passing out sailors that besides improving their professional capabilities, they should also inculcate in them the traits of a good citizen.
Commanding Officer PNS Himalaya Captain Muzammil Hussain underlined salient features of sailors training.
Later, the chief guest gave prizes. Chief of Naval Staff trophy for overall best performance was given to Muhammad Luqman.
