KARACHI, Sept 2: An anti-terrorism court deferred on Monday the judgment in a kidnapping for ransom case.
The case pertained to the kidnapping of a foreigner, with his young son, for ransom and Khalid Jamil and Haji Muhammed Iqbal are being prosecuted on the complaint of victim’s wife.
Judge Abdul Hameed Abro of the ATC-2 fixed Tuesday for the pronouncement of the judgment.
SALIM QADRI CASE: The ATC-1, headed by Judge Aley Maqbool Rizvi, put off the hearing of the Salim Qadri murder case.
The chief of the Sunni Tehrik and five others were killed on May 18, last year in Baldia Town in an ambush, while they were being driven to a mosque for Juma prayers.
The dead included Anis Qadri, 23, nephew of the ST chief, and Altaf Husain, brother-in-law of Maulana Saleem Qadri, Ibrahim Qadri and Abid Baloch, driver of the victims’ car.
Mohammed Faisal alias Pehlwan and Ghulam Parwar are being tired for killing Salim Qadri inside the Central Prison, Karachi.
The judge adjourned the hearing of the case till 28th as one of the defence counsel did not appear before the court.
