ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: The Election Commission has fixed Sept 20 as the last date for receipt of applications for postal ballot papers for general elections to the national assembly and provincial assemblies.

The commission in a statement issued on Saturday said the government servants, members of armed forces, holders of public offices, their wives and children of voting age provided they are stationed at a place other than the place in which their home constituency is situated are entitled for postal ballot.

In case of polling staff and police personnel posted at a polling station other than the one at which they are entitled to cast their vote, Sept 30 has been fixed as the last date for receiving applications for postal ballot, it added.

The application, which will be entertained if submitted on prescribed forms should be filed or sent by post under the signature to the constituency, where the elector has been registered as a voter.
