Seven injured in accident

SUKKUR, Aug 29: Seven persons, including three women, were injured in a road accident on the National Highway, near Ather Abro, district Ghotki, on Thursday.

A Datsun pickup (JA-2150) was parked along the road at the national highway when a speeding Army truck hit it from behind, which caused injuries to seven passengers.

Those who received injuries were identified as Rahim Bux, Muhammad Bux, Jamaluddin, Fida Hussain, Mst Darya and others.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.

KIDNAPPED: A driver, named Hashim Ali, was kidnapped along with his Datsun pickup from Sarhad police station jurisdiction on Thursday morning.

He was coming from Ghotki when armed dacoits intercepted his vehicle on the way and took him away at gun-point.

Nazim: Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, District Nazim Sukkur, has condemned the attitude of Sukkur Railway officials who he said wanted to create conflict between the people and the police, and were contributing to the worsening of law and order.

He said the clash between the police and the people would have serious consequences. He said the houses pin-pointed by the railways had been razed to the ground.
