Tribal dispute settled

SHIKARPUR, Nov 8: The deadly dispute between two groups of Shar tribe going on for the last four years in taluka Garhi Yasin was settled here on Thursday.

The dispute, which began at village Sharan Ji Wandh on Karo- kari affair, at least 16 persons including three women were killed, while 18 men and women were injured from both the groups.

Sardar Khadim Hussain Khan Jatoi was the Amin of both the warring groups at a jirga held here on Thursday.

Agha Ahmedyar Khan Shar, Hussain Khan Jatoi, Karim Dino Jatoi and Karam Khan Shar were the musheers of the two groups.

According to decision of the jirga each group would pay Rs 600000 for murder of each woman and Rs 300,000 for murder of each man while Rs 825,000 were fixed as total compensation for the 18 injured men and women from both the groups which would be paid keeping in view the nature of injuries inflicted to the two groups’ men and women.

KILLED: A villager, Ghous Bux Bakhrani of village Bakhrani, was shot dead by his rivals at Bakra Mandi here on Thursday.

Three accused namely Khan Wahid Bakhrani, Mehar Bakhrani and Kehar Bakhrani, have been nominated in the FIR.
