He issued these orders during a briefing to him by a committee, presided over by director general health Dr Fateh Mohammad Khan, constituted to review promotion procedure of senior specialist doctors.

The minister ordered creation of equal posts at all the taluka and district hospitals in accordance with required number of grades and vacancies.

He also ordered upgrading of the civil hospitals, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and Khaipur, besides the Sindh government hospital, Orangi Town (Qatar Hospital), where only senior doctors of specialist cadres would be posted.

“Moreover specialist doctors vacancies be created for appointment at pathology and radiology departments of all teaching hospitals and for TB hospitals, Sir C.J Institute of Psychiatry and skin hospitals of Karachi,” he added.

He hoped that after according approval to these suggestions by Sindh governor the old demand of promotion of specialist cadre doctors would be resolved amicably and like general cadres, the specialist doctors would be promoted up to the rank of grade 20.
