KARACHI: Young man stabbed to death

KARACHI, Aug 28: A young labourer was stabbed to death by a fellow worker in Site on Wednesday.

Police said that initially they were informed that a labourer died due to the breakdown of a heavy machine at a plastic factory.

Later, when police reached the spot, they found out that the victim Mohammad Sameer, aged 21, was stabbed in the abdomen by another labourer identified as Wasim.

Police said that they had had a heated argument over a girl living in their neighbourhood. On Wednesday afternoon, Wasim stabbed Sameer in the abdomen following an exchange of hot words.

He was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medico-legal officer. Police said both the victim and the assailant hailed from Jhang, Punjab. The suspect is under police custody.

SUICIDE: A young man committed suicide in his house in Mochko on Wednesday.

Police said that Adil Mashi, aged 18, wanted to marry a Muslim girl, living in his neighbourhood. However, he faced tough resistance from both the families.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Adil consumed some poisonous substance in his house in Itthad town, Mochko.

When his condition deteriorate, he was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He died on way to the hospital.

DIES: Bodies of at least three heroin addicts were found from different parts of the city on Wednesday, Edhi sources said.

An official of the Edhi Foundation said that they collected three unknown dead bodies of heroin addicts from Clifton, Chakiwara and Kalri areas.

All the bodies were shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification, Edhi sources said.

INJURED: A young man was shot at and injured in Jodia Bazar when he tried to resist two armed men trying to snatch his motorcycle on Wednesday evening.

Hospital sources said that victim identified as Chaudhry Imran Abbasi, aged 30, was brought to the Civil Hospital from Jodia Bazar.

He had multiple bullet wounds and was admitted in a serious condition.

Police said that victim was riding his motorcycle (KV-7921) when he was intercepted by armed men. On resistance they opened fire and fled.

CHURCH: A Church was trespassed by some unknown persons in PIB Colony on late Wednesday night.

Police said that Father Raja Phillips of UP Church, located in Essa Nagri in the jurisdiction of PIB Colony, lodged a complaint with the police that unknown persons entered the Church by breaking the locks.

Police inspected the spot and confirmed the incident, but said that no item or valuable was found missing from the premises.

“A donation box kept in the premises was the real target of the intruders, but it was already empty” said a duty official of the PIB police station.
