Growers demand payment of dues

BADIN, Aug 21: The sugarcane growers of Badin district, Abdul Razzaq Memon, Abdul Rehman Soomro, Khaliq Memon and others, while speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, accused the management of Mirza Sugar Mills, of the non-payment of their dues for the last two seasons.

They alleged that they were misbehaved by an officer of the mill when they demanded the payment of dues.

They said due to non-payment they were facing financial problems.

DEMAND: A villager, Abdul Wahid Lund, of the Ramzan Lund village, Talhar Taluka, has demanded of the Inspector-General of Police, Sindh, and the additional IGP, Hyderabad, to issue orders for the arrest of the accused for the theft of his buffalo and for the recovery of the cattle.

Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, he alleged that in spite of paying Rs9,000 to one Ahmed alias Bhoro there was no recovery of the buffalo.

An FIR was registered against the accused, but he was being pressed to withdraw the case, he alleged.
