SARGODHA, Aug 20: Bhalwal Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Asghar Ali summoned for Wednesday (today) the influential who had convened a Panchayat to force a gang-rape victim to accept Rs100,000 compensation or to leave the village for good.

Information gleaned on Tuesday revealed, a girl of Chawa village was abducted and raped allegedly by Javed and his accomplice Muhammad Bashir on July 28. The police had registered a case against the accused.

Meanwhile, the aggrieved family claimed some influential people convened a Panchayat which forced the victim’s family to accept Rs100,000 compensation and compromise with the accused to avoid the hassle of involvement in Hudood case.

The victim moved an application before Sargodha District and Sessions Judge Shaikh Abdur Rasheed who directed the victim to appear before the Bhalwal additional district and sessions judge to record her statement under section 164 CrPC.

Sargodha police DIG Shamsul Mirza had deputed Bhera police SHO to go into the matter. The SHO had arrested both the accused.

In another case, a woman was allegedly gang-raped by seven people in Farooka, some 45 kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

Seven people, including Farooq, Allah Bakhsh Kalayar, Akhtar Arain and Riaz Dhudi, abducted the woman and raped her.
