14 gamblers held

KHAIRPUR, Nov 7: The CIA police, Khairpur, and the Gambat police arrested 14 gamblers in two separate raids on Wednesday.

The CIA police, Khairpur, arrested five gamblers — Bangal Shaikh, Wazir Shaikh, Dilshad Shaikh, Ashaque Shaikh, and Ghulam Qasim Shaikh — under the gambling act 5A. Police also seized Rs580 in cash and playing cards.

The Gambat police arrested nine gamblers — Mumtaz Narejo, Amanullah Kalhoro, Nisar Ahmed Kalhoro, Din M. Kalhoro, M. Ramzan Kalhoro, Mir Khan Burdi, and Piral Ujjan under the gambling act 5A. It also seized Rs1,100 and playing cards.

PROTEST: Scores of villagers of Bahadurabad, Kathiawar, and 30 other villages protested against the polio teams on Wednesday in Chondiko.

They claimed that they had contacted mobile vaccination teams but in vain.
