LAHORE, Aug 17: An official spokesman rejected on Friday Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani’s allegations that some non-government organizations had been given Rs800 million to influence the outcome of the forthcoming elections.
The spokesman said the government was committed to holding fair, free and transparent elections. He also denied that the president had advised the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal leaders to join a pro-government alliance.
