KARACHI, Aug 16: The foreign investors have purchased 28.717 million shares worth Rs659.241 million during the month of July 2002, Karachi Stock Exchange sources disclosed on Friday.

According to the information conveyed by the KSE members, during this period the foreign investors sold 15.553 million shares worth Rs310.172 million, showing a net investment of Rs349.069 million during July 2002.

Earlier, the State Bank of Pakistan has released the official data of inflow and outflow of foreign portfolio investment showing a net change (sale of shares/securities) worth Rs224.62 million from July 1 to July 13, 2002.

The opening market value of shares/securities as on July 1, 2002 was Rs12,181.11 million, purchase of shares/securities from July 1 to 13, 2002 was worth Rs500.80 million while sale of shares/securities during this period was Rs725.42 million.

The market value of shares/securities as on July 13, 2002 was worth Rs12,090.93 million.—APP
