HYDERABAD, Aug: 13: The central general secretary, Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA), Prof Liaquat Aziz, has hailed the decision of the Punjab governor to withdraw the notification in respect of the privatization of the educational institutions and also to take strict action against those police officers who were responsible for committing violence against the protesting teachers.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, he has appealed to the Sindh governor to emulate the Punjab governor and withdraw the decision about the privatization of educational institutions in Sindh in the best interest of education, teachers, students, and parents.

He pointed out that the people of Sindh were already suffering from a sense of deprivation and it was the general perception that Sindh was being treated as a “colony” and some decisions were thrust on Sindh which were not applied to the other provinces.—Bureau
