Mehran tackle PTV in final

ISLAMABAD, Aug 12: Pakistan Television (PTV) went through to the final of the Independence Day Soccer League Monday, overcoming Akbar Club 5-4 in a penalty shootout at the Pakistan Sports Complex.

In Tuesday’s final, PTV will be up against Mehran, who had earned their ticket the day before with an identical win over Kiran Club.

After both sides drew a blank in regulation time, PTV victory was made possible by strikes on target from Zarar Ahmed, Zahid, Tauqir, Masroor and Zakir.

Akbar Club’s penalties were put in by Ramzan, Shoaib, Imran and Shahid. The final is to be played Tuesday.
