Maqsood grabs hat trick

LAHORE, Aug 10: A hat trick by Maqsood Khan guided Amanat Ali Bukhari Club to enter the final of the Lahore city Independence Day hockey tournament, beating Packages Club 5-0 at the National Hockey Stadium Saturday.

Shaheen Club also cruised into the final defeating Pak Hockets 4-2 in the second prefinal.

Maqsood scored goals in the 25th, 30th and 32nd minute to complete the hat trick. Asif Pervez and Naveed Hayat contributed one goal each to make the tally.

Shaheen Club served well by Muhammad Abbas, Saboor Ahmed, Hafeezullah and Yasir Dilawar who scored one goal each.

For the losers, Khalid Rasool and Moin Chaudhary banged home one goal apiece.

The final will be played on Sunday. Earlier, the third position match will be played between Pak Hockets and Packages.
