PESHAWAR, Aug 10: The provincial Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Meher Taj Roghani, has said the government was trying to form a service structure for paramedical staff in the province.

Talking to a delegation which called on him under the leadership of PMA’s provincial chief, Sirajuddin Burki, here on Saturday, the minister said paramedics formed the backbone of a healthcare system along with doctors and nurses, and the government would soon announce the long-awaited service structure for them to enable them to work with devotion. She said the government was reviewing all aspects before the announcement of the service structure for paramedics so that justice could be done to all the employees working under different categories.

Speaking on the occasion, Siraj Burki appreciated the efforts made by the Health Department regarding service structure for the 8,000 paramedics working across the province.

Mr Burki said the paramedics were appointed in grade 5,6 or 9 and most of them retired in the same pay scale after 25 years’ of service.
