ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: Additional Secretary-General of Pakistan Muslim League (QA) Col (retd) Sarwar Cheema on Saturday hoped that the Election Commission would hold free and fair elections.

He was talking to newsmen here at the Election Commission of Pakistan after depositing a list of office-holders and other documents of the party to the Commission.

He said the chief Election Commissioner Irshad Hassan Khan, who has been appointed by president for three years, cannot be removed even by the president himself, therefore, he should be able to work independently.
