Nazim demands inquiry

BANNU, Aug 8: The District Nazim, Malik Iqbal, has ordered an inquiry into the deal of laying astroturf at the Qazi Mohib Hockey Stadium here.

He was presiding a meeting about the sports affairs here on Thursday. Besides, the meeting was also attended by NWFP director sports Mazullah Khan, BAnnu DCO Sardar Abbas, sports officer Haji Sarwar Khan, EDO C&W, district planning officer and district sports committee members.

Iqbal observed that the at the time of laying the astroturf, the guarantee given was ten years, but its condition became deplorable in a year. It is a wastage of government money, he added.

The inquiry would also be held into other sports affairs in Bannu.

The Nazim told the meeting that soon the Bannu city would have a cricket stadium, which, he said, would be constructed on the railway land lying useless for many years now.

A permission in this regard would be sought from the provincial government and the Pakistan Sports Board, he remarked.
