Anti-polio drive begins

SUKKUR, Nov 6: Zila Nazim Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, inaugurated the second round of polio campaign, 2001, here on Tuesday by administering anti-polio drops including to the children below the age of five.

This drive will continue up to November 8 throughout the district. The District Coordination Officer, Sukkur Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi and Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood Pakwala were also present on the occasion.

The Zila Nazim asked the health department officials to make the drive more effective and ensure that not a single child was left during the campaign.

EDO Health, Dr. Ashfaq Piracha briefed the Zila Nazim about the campaign. He said vaccination target of 266,182 children would be achieved during the campaign. In this connection 554 mobile teams have been constituted by involving employees of education department and representatives of NGOs so as to achieve the required target.
