QUETTA, Jan 25 The Balochistan Election Tribunal on Monday asked the Election Commission to notify Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch as winner of the Kharan-Washuk constituency (NA-271) in the general election of 2008. The commission had declared Mir Ehsan Reki the winner.

This was the second time that the tribunal had ruled in favour of the retired general. But Mr Reki had challenged the previous decision in the Supreme Court.

The apex court had sent it back to the tribunal to revisit the petition.

The tribunal retained its old decision and asked the Election Commission to notify the election of the appellant.

Mr Baloch joined PML-N during the visit of its chief Nawaz Sharif to Quetta while Mr Reki belongs to PML-Q.
