Allana annexes title

KARACHI, Aug 5: Allana with 140 Victory Points annexed the Aslam Memorial Bridge tournament which concluded Sunday at Aslam Memorial Bridge Hall, National Stadium Sunday.

Favourite Allana 65 was trailing behind Attackers 73 alongwith Dr. Ilyas 68, Four Bidders 67, and Jamal 66 VP when play started on third day.

By virtue of their defeat against Solox in the fourth round, Allana were to face Macks and using all tricks of the trade, the combination of Jan-e-Alam Fazli, Rehman Allana, Sultan Siddiqui, Rashid-ul-Ghazi, Tahir Masood and Rashid Jafer managed a 71 IMP victory thus adding maximum 25 V- VP in the sixth round to their march to victory stand with 25 VP.

Allana’s team is proceeding to Montreal for participation in the World Bridge Championship.

The Karachi Bridge Association will conduct Sixth Super Bowl Tuesday evening at the Aslam Bridge Hall.

This is being held in honor of Mr. Sultan Siddiqui who has distinction of representing Pakistan in various international bridge tournament beside winning a number of ranking bridge tournament and he is also nine-time winner of National Bridge Championship. —APP
