WANA, Aug 2: The residents of Bermal and its surrounding areas in eastern Afghanistan started moving to safer places after three houses were destroyed in bombing of a village by the coalition warplanes.
Gharcheena village, situated about 2km from the border village of Angoor Adda in the South Waziristan Agency, came under attack on Wednesday night.
Witnesses said the US fighter jets also carried out sorties on the village on Thursday morning.
However, no report of loss of life was received.
The bombing follows an attack allegedly by the Taliban and Al Qaeda men on a patrolling party near Gharcheena in which two coalition troops had been wounded three days back.
