HYDERABAD, Aug 1: A man, Imam Ali Dahiri, who was allegedly subjected to torture by the Hatri police, was shifted to the Liaquat Medical Hospital Jamshoro branch on late Wednesday night.

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

ARRESTED: Nawab Lakho, the driver of the TPO, Phulelli, was arrested by the Bhittai Nagar police on late Tuesday night when the mobile which he was driving collided with a motorcycle killing a youth, Saad Ahmed, on the spot and injuring his friend, Shahid, at Qasim Chowk.

Shahid was taken to a hospital.

Saad’s body was taken to Hala.

Nawab Lakho was arrested under the orders of the AIG police, Hyderabad Region.

A case has been lodged at the Bhittai Nagar police station.

ARMS: The Kotri police seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition during a raid at the Dabbo Shoro village near the National Highway on Thursday.

The SP, Kotri, Sharjeel Kharal, said that the raid had been carried out over a tip off and a 222 rifle, a single barrel gun, 12 locally-manufactured pistols, four 32-bore revolvers, a 22-bore revolver, and a large amount of ammunition had been recovered.

However, no one was arrested.

REMAND OBTAINED: The Kotri police obtained a five-day remand in police custody of Zulfiqar Shah, who was accused of having killed his wife, Razia Shah, in Muslim town Kotri last week.

His formal arrest was brought on record on Wednesday.

The SP, Kotri, told this correspondent that three suspects who were being interrogated by the police had been let-off after verification.
