Plant health clinic set up

FAISALABAD, July 30: A Plant Health Clinic has been established in the department of plant pathology, University of Agriculture here to diagnose and treat the ailing plants.

This clinic will provide technical advice and guidance to the farmers through toll-free help line (0800-15000) specially created by the Punjab government.

Department of plant pathology chairman Prof Dr Sultan Mahmood will be the incharge of the clinic which will work under the supervision of Prof Dr Tahir Husain, dean, faculty of agriculture.

PLANT BREEDING SOCIETY: A meeting was held on Tuesday at the department of plant breeding and genetics to introduce a society formed by the department, and explain its aims and objectives.

A large number of teachers and students were present on the occasion.

The society will promote cooperation between plant breeders and provide a platform for them to share their experiences with fellow scientists and researchers.

It will also provide scholarships to talented students and resolve their problems.—APP
