KARACHI: Women to join strike

Published July 30, 2002

KARACHI, July 29: Women members of the Karachi Union of Journalists will observe a token hunger strike from 11 am at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, against the delay in the implementation of the 7th wage award.

The eighth batch of workers of the newspaper industries replaced those who went on hunger strike here on Sunday, against the indifferent attitude of the newspaper owners towards the diminishing purchasing power of the workers during the last seven years, and refusal to enforce the 7th wage award.
