Published November 6, 2001

SUKKUR, Nov 5: The in-charge of the Army Monitoring Cell, Ghotki, Brig Abdul Latif, along with EDO (Education) Mohammad Ibrahim, raided the Mushal College of Education and found that it was established without affiliation with any university. The college authorities, however, claimed that it had been affiliated with Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.

The B.Ed and M.Ed examinations were being conducted in the college. During an investigation it was revealed that 30 students from Punjab and other provinces were on roll of the college. Each candidate was being charged Rs30,000 against the government fee of Rs10,000.

It was also revealed that the principal of the college had been serving on two other posts — in-charge of campus programme of Shah Abdul Latif University and as a lecturer of Muslim History, at Mirpur Mathelo Degree College.

Brig Abdul Latif directed suspension of the principal, besides taking strict action against him.

When contacted, an official of Shah Abdul Latif University denied that the college was affiliated with the University.
