ISLAMABAD, July 27: The ambassador of South Korea has expressed his displeasure over the inconvenience faced by his guests at the hands of the capital police, an official source said.

In his complaint lodged with the Foreign Office, the envoy said the guests, invited by the ambassador, were prevented from entering the embassy by the policemen at the police-pickets in the Diplomatic Enclave. This caused inconvenience to them and also embarrassed the host, the source said.

In the light of his complaint, the interior ministry directed the inspector-general of police Islamabad (IGP) to tell the policemen not to cause unnecessary trouble to people, the source said.

For the protection of diplomats and other embassy staff, VIP and Diplomatic Protection Department (DPD) has been set up by the Islamabad police. The commanding officer of the department will be the superintendent of police Islamabad, Ehsan Saddiq.
