SIALKOT, July 26: A transporter was shot dead early Friday morning by three armed motorcyclists in Nai Abadi Sohawa, Daska.

Three unidentified armed men entered the house of Javed Iqbal, 45, and opened fire on him. The transporter sustained critical injuries and died on the spot. Later, the outlaws escaped while firing in the air.

Meanwhile, on the appeal of the Daska Tehsil Transporters Association, the transporters held a protest demonstration and blocked traffic on the Daska-Gujranwala-Sialkot Road near the Civil Hospital Chowk.

They also burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the local administration.

The traffic was restored when the DSP assured the protesters that an immediate action would be taken against the killers.

Daska police have registered a case and are investigating.
