PESHAWAR, July 25: Two highwaymen robbed a mobile inspection team of the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) on Haryana Road in the limits of Daudzai Police Station, here on Tuesday night.
The SDO of Gulbela sub-division, Sheraz Khan, told the police that a Pesco mobile team was patrolling on Haryana Road to detect power pilferage when two armed men stopped the van and snatched money and wrist-watches of the team.
TWO INJURED: Also on Tuesday night, two persons along with their accomplices opened fire at their sister and mother, injuring them critically, at Miskinabad.
Basirullah lodged an FIR with the police, saying that he was sleeping with his family when his two sons, Roohullah and Ehsanullah, entered the home with their accomplices — Yaqoob Zahir and Nawaz — and opened fire with pistols at his wife Zahida and daughter Mahgul.
As a result, both were critically injured. They were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital. The brothers had a suspicion about the character of their mother and sister, Basirullah said.
The accused fled after the shooting.
